Overview:

2008 has been a turning point for industry on addressing their dust explosion hazards. It is now well known that OSHA and others are focused on enforcing current recognized and generally accepted engineering practices (RAGAGEPs) for dust explosion prevention. Per NFPA 654 a key aspect of this involves identification of hazards through process hazard analyses. This course, Combustible Dust PHA Leader Training, will provide the tools to conduct comprehensive PHAs. Leadership Training utilizing Checklists and HAZOP methodologies will be provided.

    About the Trainers

    All three trainers are Safety Consultants with ioMosaic Corporation with advanced degrees in Chemical Engineering and Environmental Sciences along with over 50 combined years experience working in or for the chemical and petrochemical industry. All three bring experience from industry followed by consulting as process safety engineers. Some unique qualifications include a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Missouri and experience in conducting process hazard analyses, developing PHA programs and training leaders in PHA techniques.

    Key speakers include Mr. Hoffman who is an OSHA compliance officer with 22 years of industry experience, and 8 years of experience with the Department of Labor.

    Georgia's State Fire Marshall Office has been instrumental in leading change at the state level on enforcement of dust explosion standards. Representation that has been involved with those changes will be present to discuss those activities.
