Process Safety Culture Training

A strong process safety program recognizes that culture, operational discipline and safe work practices, are essential for minimizing risk and maximizing potential. One of the most important aspects in developing a strong process safety culture is attitude. The attitude of individuals can determine their behaviors and lead to a strong culture. Investigations of catastrophic events have identified common process safety culture weaknesses that are often factors in other serious incidents. These investigations have indicated the lack of the following essential features of a sound process safety culture:

  • Establishing and enforcing high standards of process safety performance
  • Maintaining a sense of vulnerability (No it can’t happen here!)
  • Ensuring open and effective communication
  • Providing timely response to process safety issues and concerns

Participants learn how to create awareness in a sound process safety culture as well as developing and implementing a process safety culture program.

This is a hands-on and very interactive training, consisting of several workshops and video-based case studies. A detailed course manual and workshop materials are provided.
