Join us for the DIERS 2026 Spring Virtual Meeting happening from April 29 to May 1, 2026, where industry leaders and innovators will gather to share the latest techniques and research on emergency relief system design. Presenters from around the world will share their expertise related to emergency relief scenarios through case studies, presentations, current regulations, and networking sessions. You won't find a better venue (or value) for this vast expertise.
NOTE: Attendance is open only to dues paying AIChE DIERS members. Please visit the AIChE DIERS website and keep your membership current.

View the submission guidelines for the 2026 Spring Virtual Meeting and then prepare your abstract. Any subject pertaining to DIERS technology applications, incident investigations, experimental methods, modeling techniques, runaway reactions, equipment overpressure, and pressure relief are welcome until February 6, 2026. Please submit your abstract online as soon as possible.
Please adhere to the following guidelines:
We are currently seeking sponsors from around the globe for this conference. This is a prime opportunity to gain visibility among industry leaders and experts. Please note that only three (3) sponsorships are available, so please reach out soon to John Ellertson and secure your spot.
DIERS is expanding its international footprint, focusing on establishing new chapters and local engagement in Europe and the Middle East. To support this vital effort, we are actively looking for committed volunteers and champions in these regions to help lead the initiative. If you are interested in becoming a regional champion, please contact Georges Melhem.
Participation in the Design Institute for Emergency Relief Systems (DIERS) is recommended for all professionals involved in designing emergency relief systems (ERS) especially for reactive systems involving two-phase flow. Design of these systems can be some of the most challenging work an engineer can encounter. Membership in DIERS provides an opportunity to learn basic as well as advanced proven ERS design methodology. As a member you also interact with world class ERS designers, consultants, and valve manufacturers in the field. Attendance at meetings gives everyone exposure to excellent resources, up-to-date information on the latest techniques and research, and a wealth of practical experience.
Become a DIERS member and stay on top of critical issues in pressure relief design.
